Greetings All,
I want to take this opportunity to wish you a beautiful, peaceful Christmas. May your divine light shine ever bright. I know this time of year can leave many feeling stressed and anxious. So many people rushing around in preparation for the festive period, hanging up decorations, places to be, looking for the perfect gift. Some not so fortunate and looking for there next meal. This time of year can be magical, fresh winter mornings, the smile of an excited child, but it can also bring up a whole host of emotions, some good, some not so good.
Taking time out for yourself, self care and nourishment can make a huge difference. Something simple, get out in nature, a walk in the Winter sunshine, a bath in candlelight, time just being in stillness. When we take care of ourselves it gives us the energy to support others. It is a time of giving ( let’s do this all year round, not just in this season) Give your time, be an ear to listen to, a helping hand, a warm coat or a meal to someone less fortunate than yourself. Be of service. Giving warms your heart and can bring a glimmer of light to the heart of others.
I feel a real connection with this quote by Thich Nhat Hanh ‘I am there for you’. I think these words in themselves say it all. Not only for our loved ones but for those in need.
I am there for you by Thich Nhat Hanh
The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When our mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers. If you love someone but rarely make yourself available to him or her, that is not true love. When your beloved is suffering, you need to recognize his or her suffering, anxiety and worries, and just by doing that, you already offer some relief. Mindfulness relieves suffering because it is filled with understanding and compassion. When you are really there, showing your loving kindness, the energy of the Holy Spirit is in you.
In the words of Helen Keller: I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. I will not refuse to do the something I can do.
Be the change. Love and Blessings Om shanti, Debbie
